Sitework
Every concrete project starts with the ground beneath it. We handle clearing, excavation, grading and compaction so your site drains properly and is ready for forms, footings and a pour that will last.
Concrete work
G & D Construction builds foundations, steps, ramps and retaining walls that start with careful sitework, proper reinforcement and a pour that follows the plans.
Structural concrete carries real weight, so there's no room for shortcuts. G & D Construction handles sitework, foundations, steps, ramps and retaining walls for residential and commercial projects in Lanham and throughout Prince George's County. Each one is built to support what's on top of it and around it.
We start with the ground itself: clearing, excavating, grading and compacting so the site is stable and drains properly. From there we set footings and reinforcement, pour to the plans, and make sure each stage is ready for inspection. The work is solid, square and built to last for decades.

Every concrete project starts with the ground beneath it. We handle clearing, excavation, grading and compaction so your site drains properly and is ready for forms, footings and a pour that will last.
A strong foundation keeps walls straight, floors level and water out. We pour footings, foundation walls and slabs for additions, garages and new construction, built to the plans and inspected before work continues.
Crumbling or uneven steps are a fall waiting to happen. We pour durable concrete steps, stoops and accessibility ramps with consistent rises, safe slopes and finishes that give good footing in wet weather.
A sloped yard can wash out, erode or slowly creep toward your home. We build reinforced concrete retaining walls that hold back soil, manage drainage and turn hard-to-use slopes into level, usable ground.
Our process
The project begins with a review of the work to be completed, the site conditions, access, existing structures, and the information available in the project documents.
The work area is excavated or prepared as needed, then forms are set for the required shape and dimensions. The base and formwork are checked before reinforcement is installed.
Reinforcing steel is positioned and secured according to the project requirements. Openings, embedded items, and connections are addressed before the concrete placement begins.
Concrete is placed into the prepared forms, worked around the reinforcement, and finished to the specified surface. After the concrete has set, forms are removed and the completed work is reviewed.
Scope
Structural concrete is quoted from the project scope, dimensions, reinforcement, formwork, site access, excavation needs, and the work shown in the project documents.
Request serviceStructural concrete can include footings, foundations, walls, piers, slabs, and other reinforced concrete elements. The exact work depends on the project and its requirements.
It can be part of an addition, renovation, or repair project. The existing structure, available access, site conditions, and project documents need to be reviewed before the work is defined.
Many structural concrete elements use reinforcing steel, but the reinforcement depends on the specific component and project requirements. The plans or other project documents establish what is needed.
The schedule depends on the size and type of the work, excavation and formwork needs, site access, reinforcement, concrete placement, and the other phases of the project.

The work was done in a timely manner. My only concern was the placement of some of the equipment on my lawn killed some of the grass.
